The leasing company CDB Aviation has twelve Airbus A330 long-haul aircraft converted into freighters by Elbe Flugzeugwerke. The portfolio already has 14 converted cargo jets of this type.

According to the Lessor's press release, the machines are to go to Sichuan Airlines and Jiangxi Cargo Airlines. This is the first time the A330P2F will be introduced in the People's Republic of China. However, Mexican airline Mas Air will take over the first two units. The conversion is currently underway in Dresden.

Many aircraft have a "second life" as freighters after their service as passenger aircraft. The increased demand for cargo since the beginning of the corona pandemic has accelerated this trend for certain machine types. For example, Airbus A321s were converted for the first time.
