A United Airlines flight from Houston to Boston had to be diverted on July 28, 2024 due to a biological hazard. Flight UA2477, a Boeing 737-800, was diverted to Washington-Dulles after a passenger became seriously ill.

The situation worsened, causing crew members to vomit and passengers to demand masks. A doctor on board called for an immediate landing. The plane was thoroughly cleaned after landing and continued its journey to Boston. None of the 155 passengers or six crew members required medical attention.
