Gulf carrier Emirates Airline has been using the Airbus A380 for longer than previously announced. The company announced that 15 more superjumbos will receive the new cabin.
Emirates is the world's largest Airbus A380 operator. In November of the previous year, it was announced that the cabins of a total of 52 examples would be upgraded. Among other things, a premium economy class is installed. This step was also decided on for 53 Boeing 777s.
The carrier has now announced that 15 more superjumbos will get the new passenger cabin. The reason given for the move is that the aircraft will remain in service for longer than originally thought. This also protects Emirates from delays in delivery for the Boeing 777X machine type.
