European Sleeper: Night train project put on hold

Advertising

The night train between Brussels/Amsterdam and Prague via Berlin, announced by the startup European Sleeper, has been put on hold for an indefinite period. The company actually wanted to start in the summer of 2022 in cooperation with the Czech railway company Regiojet.

The new night train is to run from Brussels via Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Hanover, Berlin, Dresden, Bad Schandau, Decin and Usti nad Labem to Prague. Since European Sleeper is not a railway company itself, it cooperates with the Czech train and bus company Regiojet. However, the offer cannot be included as originally announced.

The Dutch provider announced without naming a new start date that they will not start in summer 2022 for the time being. The sale of tickets has already been discontinued. No further reasons were given as to why the ambitious night train project is on hold for the time being. The operating railway company Regiojet also did not want to comment further and referred to the customer European Sleeper, who was silent.
