Eurowings discontinues Linz-Düsseldorf

The Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings is discontinuing the non-stop connection between Linz and Düsseldorf. A few days ago, when presenting the traffic figures for 2022, the airport expressed concern about the future of this route.

Since taking over this connection, Eurowings has not exactly presented itself as a reliable provider, because Linz-Düsseldorf has been repeatedly suspended under various pretexts. The current "winter break" will last, because all references to the former AUA route have now been removed from the company website.

It is still completely open whether a sister company or another carrier will be found to serve the affected route. According to a press release, the Linz Airport management assumes that the previous use of Airbus jets proved to be uneconomical.
