In June 2024, FACC AG celebrated the production of the 2000th Sharklet for the Airbus A320 family. These upwardly curved wing tips make a significant contribution to reducing fuel consumption and increasing the efficiency of modern passenger aircraft.

The Sharklets manufactured by FACC are manufactured in Ried im Innkreis and delivered directly to Airbus. Each Sharklet consists of around 4.000 individual components and is manufactured by a team of around 100 highly qualified employees. The anniversary Sharklet will be delivered to an airline in the Arab region.

FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger emphasized the importance of this milestone and the ongoing collaboration with Airbus: "2.000 Sharklets manufactured for our customer Airbus are a milestone for FACC. We look forward to equipping many more Airbus aircraft with FACC Sharklets in the coming years."

The Sharklets, which are inspired by nature, not only increase the range of the aircraft, but also their cost-effectiveness. With over 7.000 A320 family aircraft on order, Airbus is relying on FACC's lightweight technology and market leadership to continue the success of this aircraft series.
