Farewell announcement: “Lauda treats some of its employees inhumanely”

After 40 years of service, a flight captain said goodbye to his retirement with an unequivocal address about his last employer, the Austrian Ryanair subsidiary Lauda. His words were followed by great applause from the passengers, because he made no secret of the fact that the Düsseldorf employees are likely to be very dissatisfied with their employer.

The mood at the Lauda base in Düsseldorf is likely to be on the ground anyway, given the fact that the last flights will take place on October 19, 2020, all employees have already received their terminations and a veritable flood of lawsuits are pending before the local courts. A captain retiring after 40 years of service found clear and frank words about the Ryanair Group's approach. The employer treats the staff in part with inhumanity, can be heard in an audio file that passengers have sent to Aviation Direct. The travelers applauded clearly audible after the announcement of the retiring pilot. The subsequent farewell announcement from the cabin, which was also recorded by passengers, also resulted in great applause.

The clear words of the now retired Lauda captain can be heard here in the original sound.

The farewell to the booth here to listen to in the original sound.

All we can say is, thank you Niki! For building up the airline for and to this band of buccaneers called Ryanair and then selling it. Labor law and employee participation were a nightmare for you. Sold to Mr O'Leary. He is carrying out large-scale social cuts across borders and with the help of an army of lawyers. All of this with the tolerance and support of the EU Commission and some countries such as Malta and Ireland. The way such entrepreneurs operate, the irresponsibility of the EU Commission and these states means that many young and old people are asking what the advantage of the EU is for them. It is not social cuts, deregulation, wage dumping and exploitation. Only when a serious rethink begins here will workers be able to see Europe in a positive light again.

And since everyone knows this, and the planes are still not empty, the average passenger probably only understood “oh, even cheaper tickets! :)))” when talking about the “cheaper temporary workers”...
