Oneworld member Finnair assumes that around 2021 destinations can be offered in summer 60. The carrier is also of the opinion that the advancing vaccinations in various countries will mean that free travel may be possible.
Finnair will therefore reactivate destinations such as Reykjavik, Bodø, Nice, Lisbon and Vilnius in June 2021. They also want hot water destinations such as Rhodes, Chania, Santorini, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga and Alicante in summer. In Italy, Finnair wants to reactivate Rome, Milan and Venice. "We are closely following how travel regulations are evolving in our markets and have the flexibility to increase flights as demand and take advantage of the opportunities that travel restrictions will bring," said Ole Orver, Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair .
In North America, the introduction of vaccines has made good progress and Finnair will resume flights to Chicago and Los Angeles in mid-June, increasing frequencies on the New York route to up to three flights a week. The restart of these flights is still subject to the development of US travel guidelines.
