From June 16, 2024, Air India will connect Switzerland and India with new direct flights. The Indian airline plans to operate four times a week between Zurich and New Delhi. This connection will link the capital New Delhi, an important metropolitan region in northern India, with Zurich. The flights are operated on the modern Boeing 787-8 with 256 seats.

Air India flights operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Departure from Zurich is scheduled for 20:50 p.m., with an arrival in New Delhi at 08:05 a.m. the following day. Return flights depart New Delhi at 14:05 p.m. and reach Zurich at 19:15 p.m. This new service marks Air India's return to regular service to Zurich, having last operated in Switzerland in 1997.

Stefan Tschudin, Chief Operation Officer of Flughafen Zürich AG, expressed his delight at the addition of Air India and emphasized the importance of resuming this connection. In addition to Air India, home carrier and Star Alliance partner Swiss also offers daily flights between Zurich and New Delhi.
