The municipal council of the city of Friedrichshafen decided on Monday that the hangar at the airport, formerly used by the defunct regional airline InterSky, will be converted into a volleyball arena.

Before that, there was a lengthy discussion about the future location of the home of VfB Friedrichshafen. Surprising was the Halle at the airport as a compromise found. The council gave the green light for this.

The renovation is to start shortly. The municipal council is providing a one-time subsidy of 1,8 million euros for this purpose. The former InterSky hangar is to be used as a volleyball hall for at least three years.
