A 24-year-old American woman who spat on another passenger before an American Airlines flight in April last year and pushed away a flight attendant who tried to prevent her from opening a door was sentenced to three years probation.

The incident occurred on April 19, 2022 prior to the departure of an AA flight from Buffalo to Chicago. The lady got into an argument with another passenger and spat at him. The crew decided that the unruly PAX had to get out. The machine was still on its way to the gate when the woman tried to open a door. A flight attendant who tried to prevent this was violently pushed away.

The 24-year-old managed to open a door whose emergency slide had triggered and fled to the apron. Workers and the police then "caught" him and then provisionally arrested him by the executive. A US District Judge sentenced the woman to three years' probation. According to reports, the verdict was only so "mild" because the lady had no previous convictions and had already confessed during the investigation.
