The German long-distance bus and rail operator Flix plans to enter the Mexican bus market in the first half of 2025. With a volume of six to eight billion euros, Mexico is considered the third largest bus market in the world.
According to Flix CEO André Schwämmlein, bus travel has a long tradition in Mexico, which the company would like to be part of in the future. After Brazil and Chile, Mexico will be the third Latin American country in which Flix will be active.
Flix wants to further expand into the highly sought-after Latin American market. With low-cost and flexible bus travel, the company could reach a growing customer group in Mexico that serves both national and international routes.
