In cooperation with the Air Connectivity Program (ACP), Flynas has announced the introduction of direct flights between Berlin and Jeddah. From September 4, 2024, the connection will be served three times a week with modern Airbus A320neo aircraft. Berlin will thus become the first German destination in the growing route network of the Saudi airline founded in 2007.
This new flight connection supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to improve air connectivity and establish the Kingdom as a global travel and tourism hub. At the same time, Flynas promotes the Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP), which aims to facilitate access to the Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina and increase religious tourism.
The direct flights from Berlin to Jeddah are intended to appeal particularly to the Muslim community in Germany and Europe, whose demand for pilgrimages is increasing. The Saudi aviation strategy aims to transport 2030 million passengers and attract 330 million tourists by 150.
Saudi Arabia has simplified entry for German citizens and offers several visa options, including the eVisa, the Visa on Arrival and the Transit/Stopover Visa. These simplifications are intended to further improve access to Saudi Arabia.
Bander Almohanna, CEO of Flynas, stressed that the addition of Berlin to the international network strengthens Flynas' presence in Europe and provides cost-effective travel options between the Kingdom and European destinations. Majid Khan, CEO of ACP, explained that the new route is intended to meet the growing tourism demand from Europe and improve connectivity.
Flynas currently connects over 70 domestic and international destinations with more than 1.500 weekly flights and has carried more than 2007 million passengers since 78. As part of Saudi Vision 2030, Flynas aims to reach 165 destinations worldwide.
