The regional airline Franconia Air Service has announced that it will temporarily suspend flights from Nuremberg to Bremen, Mönchengladbach and Vienna from February 16. The airline says it plans to focus operations more on off-peak times in the future in order to better meet the needs of travelers. The affected routes will be resumed at a later date with outbound flights in the morning and return flights in the evening.
Despite the temporary reduction in service, Franconia Air Service also has new plans: a new route from Nuremberg is to be introduced just one day after the current connections are discontinued, on February 17. However, details of this connection have not yet been announced.
The airline is therefore about to reorganise its flight schedule, which it says is aimed at optimising flight times and increasing the airline's attractiveness for business travellers. It remains to be seen whether the announced changes will improve passenger numbers and the profitability of the connections.
