Frankfurt-Hahn: Lufthansa threatens next defeat before the ECJ

In the legal dispute over subsidies at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, Lufthansa is threatened with another legal defeat. In a case before the ECJ, the Advocate General recommended that a lower court's judgment be set aside.

The Kranich Group had previously lost two cases before the European Supreme Court. The approval of aid from 2021 is currently pending. The EU court ruled in favor of Lufthansa and gave the EU Commission the go-ahead. The Advocate General at the ECJ is now recommending that the judgment be set aside. The judges are not bound by this, but often follow the recommendation.
