Fraport traffic figures are slowly recovering

Despite the massive effects of the CoV pandemic, the number of passengers is beginning to increase: Frankfurt Airport counted around 1,25 million passengers in May. After all: an increase of 356,9 percent.

However, the same month last year had a very low comparative value, as air traffic largely came to a standstill as a result of the increasing number of infections last spring, the airport company informs. Compared to May 2019, the number of passengers continued to decline significantly by 80,0 percentage points.

The cargo volume continued to grow despite the continued lack of capacity from the additional cargo in passenger planes and achieved an increase of 27,2 percent to 204.233 tons (plus 10,0 percent compared to May 2019). With 16.977 take-offs and landings, the number of flight movements rose by 2020 percent compared to May 118,7. The total of the maximum take-off weights achieved an increase of 66,2 percent to 1,29 million tons.

The Group's airports can also grow

At the airport in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the number of passengers rose to 14.943 in May. The Brazilian airports in Fortaleza and Porto Alegre recorded 415.866 passengers. Lima Airport in Peru counted 738.398 passengers in the month under review.

The 14 Greek regional airports booked 472.937 passengers. The number of passengers at the Bulgarian Twin Star Airports in Burgas increased to 44.013. Antalya Airport in Turkey recorded 719.254 passengers. At the airport in St. Petersburg, Russia, the number of passengers rose to more than 1,5 million. Xi'an Airport in China recorded growth to around 3,9 million passengers.
