Friedrichshafen Airport handled 119.040 passengers in the previous year. In direct comparison with the value for 2019, Lake Constance Airport recorded a decrease of 75,7 percent. The number of flight movements fell by 42 percent to 18.814 take-offs or landings.

In a broadcast, Friedrichshafen Airport stated that General Aviation and the Zeppelin NT traffic contributed to the fact that the numbers did not plummet even more. The airport was kept operational every day. The "low-traffic" period was used last year to convert the runway and taxiway lighting to LED. In addition, further electrically powered baggage tractors were procured.

“My big thanks go especially to our shareholders and our employees. It was only with their commitment and support that we were able to master this challenging year 2020 despite the decline in traffic figures. The challenges will not decrease in the new year 2021 and will demand everything from us again. However, I am sure that we will be able to offer an interesting flight program again for our passengers and for the demand in the region by summer at the latest, "says Claus-Dieter Wehr, Managing Director Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen.
