Friedrichshafen Airport had around 125.841 passengers last year. In a direct comparison with 2020, growth of six percent was achieved, but it was well below the pre-crisis level.

“Of course we would have wished for significantly more passengers. However, given the circumstances of the past year, we can still be satisfied. We were able to restart Lufthansa's connections under difficult conditions and secure attractive charter connections for the region. We are now approaching the year 2022 with confidence,” says Managing Director Claus-Dieter Wehr.

Outlook for the 2022 summer flight schedule

The 2022 summer flight schedule promises improvements in service and some new destinations. With the Condor, flights to Palma will be included in the program from April 9th and will be offered up to 3 times a week. From July 2022, further connections will be added via the TUI program, so that daily flights to Palma are possible in the high season. The Tui program or Corendon also goes to Rhodes and Heraklion up to four times a week, and Kos and Burgas are new destinations at TUI. With this attractive program we are assuming a stable recovery in tourist traffic. The Lufthansa connection to Frankfurt with transfer options all over the world will also be an integral part of the convincing range of flights to and from Friedrichshafen. Wizz Air also offers Skopje, Tuzla and Ohrid as attractive connections to the Balkans. Here, too, we expect stable demand.

"We are pleased about a steady return of traffic and more flights as well as new holiday destinations from Lake Constance Airport. We assume that the offer will meet with great interest and that we will be able to welcome many guests from the Lake Constance region who use their airport on their own doorstep," explains Wehr.
