From Ohrid and Skopje: North Macedonia subsidizes further routes

The government of North Macedonia intends to tender further routes to be served from Skopje and Ohrid in the near future. The airlines are to be offered financial incentives in the form of subsidies.

It was only recently announced that Lufthansa and Wizz Air have been awarded a financially supported route package from the capital. When pink budget airlines are including the destinations Stuttgart and Salzburg contain. Now they want to advertise further routes that are to be included in the course of the coming year.

“We have sufficient funds to organize another public tender at the end of the year, which will allow more airlines to apply and open more routes. Our goal as a government is to offer the public high-quality services with a wider choice of destinations," said Transport Minister Blagoj Bočvarski.
