For some time now, the German airline German Airways has been working for the Dutch KLM Cityhopper as part of a wet lease contract. The cooperation, which is already in its second year, has been extended and now includes five Embraer 190s.

The wet lease order is currently limited to the 2023/24 winter flight schedule. However, the German airline also announced that the two contracting parties would continue to work together beyond the winter of 2023/24.

Specifically, an Embraer E190 from German Airways for KLM Cityhopper has been stationed in Düsseldorf since the end of February. With the start of the summer flight schedule at the end of March, another jet began service from Stuttgart. A third aircraft will be deployed from Basel from mid-June. Two more aircraft will be added in July, based in Aalborg and Frankfurt.

“The past few months have shown that both companies are satisfied with the cooperation. We bring a very reliable service and a highly motivated team. And we are very pleased that we can support KLM Cityhopper as an integral part of the flight operations there. We both agree that we want to continue the cooperation beyond the current contract," says German Airways Managing Director Maren Wolters.
