In the process after the crash of a Germanwings machine, the Essen regional court rejected the complaints of the bereaved for additional pain payments. The relatives of the victims have been mourning since the tragic incident in March 2015. Some now wanted more money. But nothing will come of it at first.

The plaintiffs accused the accused parties of failing the medical assessment of the co-pilot. The parent company Lufthansa and the equally accused Lufthansa flight school in the United States were not responsible for the medical examination of the pilot, the responsible court spokeswoman provides as a justification. Rather, it would fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Aviation Authority.

After the investigation, it became known that the crash, in which all passengers were killed, was intentionally caused. The cause was the depressed co-pilot. In the course of this, money has already flowed to the family of the injured party, like zeit.de reported. In most cases, a victim in Germany would have been guaranteed over 100.000 euros.

Appeals against the judgment are possible.
