The airports in Germany's most populous federal state, North Rhine-Westphalia, are seeing rising numbers of passengers again. It is true that the level of 2019 cannot be reached, but at least there are no further departures.
According to a statement from the State Statistical Office, the six largest airports in North Rhine-Westphalia were used by around 2021 travelers in June 592.000. In the same month last year there were around 430.000 fewer passengers. For comparison: In 2019, i.e. before Corona, there were 2,1 million passengers in the same month.
