The German airline Avanti Air started a charter connection to Kefalonia on Thursday, May 25, 2023 on behalf of a tour operator. This is the last connection that has not yet taken off in the Graz summer flight schedule 2023.

Although the Styrian Airport has been able to use the Opening of the Eurowings Europe base, the comeback of non-stop connections to Hamburg and Berlin as well as the new flights to Larnaka and Chania, but the connection to Lufthansa hubs has been reduced significantly thinned out. At least as far as the number of destinations is concerned, the selection has grown this year.

Airport director Wolfgang Grimus explains: “Of the 32 destinations in this year’s summer timetable, five are new. A nice development for our passengers, who can easily get to know new travel destinations.”

The Kefalonia charter flights are operated by the German airline Avanti Air with de Havilland Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft. The carrier recently put a second machine into operation. The customer of the Kefalonia flights is the tour operator Rhomberg, who is also behind the Calvi charters. Springer Reisen lets its guests fly to Paros and Skiathos with Avanti Air. This is one of the reasons why the turboprop aircraft will be stationed in Graz over the summer of 2023.

In the meantime, most of the holiday flights from Graz have already started. The first flights to Corfu and Skiathos (both Friday) and Paros (Saturday) will take place in the coming days. Furthermore, flights to Antalya, Kos, Palma de Mallorca, Rhodes and Heraklion will be increased. In addition, there are some special flights or short chains around the holidays; eg to Funchal on May 29.05th, to Tivat on May 29.05th, 07th and 11.06th. In the autumn we will go to Lourdes, Barcelona and Paphos, among others.

I find it super exciting that there are now several flights to Kefalonia in Austria!
We already booked in spring and fly from our Lower Austria airport in Linz. There should be a corresponding capacity utilization via our federal state airports anyway. You've been through enough in recent years and I have to say it was far more pleasant from the smaller airport. It was only last year that I was on a flight holiday again.
All right, I'd like more destinations! City breaks would also be great. I think it would be really good to go back to Rome or shorten the winter in Sicily. How about France? I've been dreaming of going to Perpignan for a long time. Glad I could give you a little inspiration 🙂
