Greece bans Qatar flights

12 people tested positive after flying from Doha to Athens. Now the Greek government is banning flights from Qatar.

Greece is backing down and cutting all flights to Qatar by June 15. The trigger for this measure is a previously operated flight from Doha to Athens. Among the 91 passengers on board, 12 had tested positive for the new Covid pathogen.

The infected now have to start a 14-day self-isolation, like orf.at reported. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is currently planning to reopen the tourist season from mid-June - on condition that the situation around the corona virus remains stable.
