For holidaymakers in Greece it has already become routine: filling out the so-called PLF form. After scanning in the course of entry, the electronic document was no longer worth mentioning. But watch out: Due to the increasing CoV numbers, stricter rules have also been in effect on ferries since July 5th.
This year, too, many tourists are drawn to Athens. The historic capital also has a lot to offer. But in the summer months a visit to the Acropolis can be a sweaty experience. The surrounding islands are particularly suitable for cooling off.
But before the bathing fun can begin, the requirements of the health department must first be met. For a few weeks now, these have been stipulating stricter rules when starting the journey. For example, a negative corona test (PCR or rapid antigen test) must be submitted, alternatively proof of vaccination or recovery. In addition, a self-declaration must be completed when using the ferry.
What does it look like in reality - do the Greeks stick to their own rules?
This self-declaration was dutifully distributed on the two independent trips. But that's about it, the completed form was not checked. A negative test certificate was also not absolutely necessary, the employee was also satisfied with the PLF form required upon entry.
Nevertheless, even if the transport company took the implementation of the new rules lightly, it should not be concluded that there are no rules at all on ferries. The mask must be worn on every platform, both on the seat and on the deck. Travelers who prepare all the required documents are definitely on the safe side. Nothing stands in the way of a well-deserved vacation!
