Hailstorm damages terminal: Maribor Airport temporarily closed

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport has been closed since last Friday due to damage to the terminal building caused by a hailstorm. The storm caused damage to the roof structure of the terminal. Yesterday, Slovenian Minister of Infrastructure Andrej Rajh visited the construction site and announced that the ministry would provide funds to cover the repair costs.

The airport is scheduled to resume operations on a limited basis today. Although Maribor Airport does not offer scheduled flights, pilot training and charter flights are handled there. The temporary closure of the airport has an impact on regional air traffic and could also lead to delays in charter flights.
