As part of Helsinki Airport's ten-year development program, which ends in autumn 2023, the airport company Finavia has completed the modernization of baggage logistics to make travel more convenient. Both outbound and inbound baggage systems, equipment and new facilities have been completed.

"Our goal is to provide the airlines and ground handling companies operating on our premises with facilities, equipment and systems that speed up and streamline baggage handling. Passengers will notice the improvements in smooth operations and reliability of deliveries," says Jani Elasmaa, who is responsible for operations of the apron and runways at Helsinki Airport at Finavia.

Thanks to the development of baggage logistics, the handling capacity for outbound baggage has been increased by 50 percent, and the arriving passengers are now handled in a single, uncluttered baggage claim hall.
