Inflation: Airhelp demands higher compensation payments

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The passenger rights portal Airhelp criticizes the fact that the amount of compensation that airlines have to pay in the event of cancellations and/or significant delays has not been increased since 2004.

Now they are demanding that the amount should be increased to up to 900 euros, depending on the distance. The maximum rate is currently 600 euros. Furthermore, Airhelp is of the opinion that there is also a need to catch up when it comes to damaged or lost luggage. It is suggested that clear rules for this should also be included in the Air Passenger Rights Ordinance 261/2004. To date, this aspect has not been regulated by the regulation mentioned.
