The Spanish airline Albastar won a tender in Italy and will serve three routes on behalf of the public sector. These are Brindisi, Naples and Parma. The carrier is already operating on other routes from the Sicilian airport.
"It is another important milestone that strengthens our presence in Sicily and makes Albastar the number one in Trapani Bigi in terms of the destinations offered," explains Giancarlo Celani, Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy CEO of Albastar. The contract routes will start in November 2020. Albastar already flies to Rome, Milan-Malpensa and Cuneo from the Sicilian airport.
Albastar is a Spanish airline based in Palma de Mallorca. The carrier has been operating in Italy since 2014 and was originally founded by Italian entrepreneurs. The fleet currently consists of five Boeing 737-800NG with 189 seats and one Boeing 737-400 with 170 seats.
