The German airline MHS Aviation has been operating charter flights between Kassel-Calden and Usedom since Saturday under the Rhein-Neckar Air brand. The Dornier 328 pattern is used for this. According to the tour operator, the first flight was fully booked.

Accordingly, there were 31 passengers on board the turboprop aircraft. The charter route will initially be operated in September and October 2021. If it is successful, the tour operator plans to launch flights to Heringsdorf again next year.

Rhein-Neckar Air is the house brand of Mannheim Airport. Among others, SAP and MHS Aviation are involved. All flights are carried out by the last-named company. “Before Corona”, the destinations Berlin-Tegel and Hamburg were on offer from Mannheim. These are currently dormant. This year they are relying on flights from Kassel and Mannheim to Sylt as well as charter connections such as Heringsdorf.
