As of September 1, 2020, there will be a change in the management at Klagenfurt Airport. In future, the airport will be managed by Nils Witt as sole managing director. Harald Stoutz is leaving Klagenfurt Airport and will take on a different role at majority owner Lilihill.

The recently heavily criticized operating times of the Carinthian airport have meanwhile been extended. Klagenfurt has been open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. since Monday. Business aviation in particular was extremely dissatisfied with the minimal operation that was offered due to the corona crisis.

The Carinthian provincial government is calling for the majority owner Lilihill to set up his own airline and use it, for example, to operate the Klagenfurt-Frankfurt route via Vienna. It is even suggested that Franz Orasch's group of companies should lease corresponding aircraft, reports the Kleine Zeitung.

The purchase contract for partial privatization is currently being renegotiated in Carinthia. Investor Orasch also wants to ensure that investments made by him are compensated if the airport should revert to the public sector. The "Kleine Zeitung" writes of tough negotiations, but also that the Lilihill Group should be ready to increase its majority stake to 89 percent. The state of Carinthia confirmed corresponding discussions.
