The Dutch airline KLM, the oldest airline in the world still flying under its original name, is celebrating its 105th anniversary this year. To mark the anniversary, KLM traditionally unveiled a new Delft Blue miniature house.
This year, the building chosen was the 17th century national monument, Het huis aan de drie grachten in Amsterdam. At the ceremony, KLM CEO Marjan Rintel emphasised the airline's resilience in difficult times and the ongoing efforts to make KLM future-proof.
The house was built in 1610 in the Dutch Renaissance style and is located on three canals in Amsterdam. KLM has been distributing the Delft Blue miniature houses as souvenirs to its business class passengers on intercontinental flights since the 1950s. These collector's items are sought after by travelers and collectors alike.
