From Nuremberg Airport, the connections to the Star Alliance hubs in Istanbul, Frankfurt and Vienna as well as the Skyteam hubs Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol were restored. Swiss will reactivate the Zurich route in February 2021.

Lufthansa has announced that it will increase its connection from Nuremberg to Frankfurt from November 15, 2020 from the current eleven to up to 19 flights per week. Turkish Airlines is also expanding its offer in winter: Istanbul can be reached up to five times a week from October 25, 2020. The flight times are optimized so that there are multiple connection options.

“Business trips will continue to be relevant in the future because virtual meetings cannot permanently replace person-to-person communication. Technicians from companies based in the metropolitan region must be able to install and maintain machines on site, ”says airport manager Michael Hupe. “The airlines are very willing to rebuild the route network from Nuremberg as needed. In order to stabilize the routes, however, we need sufficient demand from business on the connections offered. "
