At Lufthansa CityLine, according to the UFO union, management revoked the collective bargaining agreement on the last day of the agreed deadline. It was not until the beginning of September that the flight attendant representatives and CityLine reached an agreement.

“This approach leaves us at a loss. Some of the colleagues earn less than 2.000 euros gross per month and have nevertheless offered significant cuts in salary and working conditions. In order to secure their own future and that of the company, they actually exceeded their pain threshold. But that's obviously not enough for the group, ”says Daniel Flohr, CEO of UFO, indignantly.

The flight attendant union suspects that the cause could be the agreed protection against dismissal. The top management around Carsten Spohr would reject this “despite massive cuts”. The board of directors would be “unwilling to guarantee the workforce reliable protection against dismissal”.

“The employer wants to keep a one-sided option open and to be able to withdraw from the contract. But such a back door is unacceptable in this case: CityLine does not have any surplus staff, already today a good capacity utilization and above-average future prospects thanks to favorable structures and comparatively small aircraft. Either you want the very significant contribution to the crisis, or you don't; It's that simple, ”emphasizes Rainer Bauer, UFO negotiator at Lufthansa CityLine.
