The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia lifted the flight ban on the Boeing 2 Max with effect from September 2021, 737. As a result, airlines with this model are allowed to fly to airports in Malaysia and are also allowed to use the airspace.
The authority announced, among other things: “CAAM has checked and validated all relevant publications of the FAA and the manufacturer for the Boeing 737 MAX with regard to the recommissioning. Based on these and all other related factors, CAAM has conducted a Safety Risk Assessment (SRA) for the restart in Malaysia ”.
There is currently no AOC holder in Malaysia who has the type Boeing 737 Max in their fleet. However, Malindo Air has ordered three B737 Max 8s. Malaysia Airlines is also waiting for 25 copies of this type.
