Mannheim: Rhein-Neckar Air pauses again

The Rhein-Neckar-Air flights from Mannheim to Berlin-Tegel and Hamburg operated by MHS Aviation were only resumed on September 14, 2020, but demand does not seem to be present at the moment. The company said passenger numbers are way below forecast and therefore both routes will be suspended indefinitely.

“Due to the increasing number of infections and travel warnings for various countries, there is also a decline in demand within Germany. The number of passengers was well below our forecasts, ”said Rhein-Neckar-Air managing director Dirk Eggert in a media statement.

The virtual carrier has all flights carried out by the Bavarian MHS Aviation. Turboprop aircraft of the Dornier 328 type are used. They are also the only scheduled connections to the Mannheim regional airport, which is severely limited in terms of the possible types of aircraft due to its short runway.
