The corona pandemic has given the house brand of the German regional airport Mannheim a hard time. Apart from Sylt flights, the former city routes to Berlin (Tegel) and Mannheim have not yet been permanently reactivated. You tried again and again, but the pandemic thwarted the plan again.

Before the crisis, Rhein-Neckar Air was able to enjoy good capacity utilization on the routes to Hamburg and Berlin-Tegel. They served them up to twice a day and were already thinking about adding more. Then Corona came and demand dropped to zero from one day to the next. Mannheim Airport's own brand has not yet been able to fully recover from this.

Most recently, only flights to Sylt, which were also operated from Kassel-Calden for an operator in the W pattern, were on offer. Operating carrier MHS Aviation, which also has a stake in Rhein-Neckar-Air, uses the Dornier 328 turboprop type from the small German airport. From April 17, 2023, this will again be going to Hamburg six times a week. From April 30, 2023, there will also be flights to Heringsdorf.

With the latter destination, Rhein-Neckar-Air is opening up another domestic German destination in addition to Sylt. From April 30, 2023, Heringsdorf will be headed for on the Sunday traffic day. Currently, this route is seasonally planned for the summer of 2023. A continuation in winter 2023/24 is not excluded, but is rather unlikely due to the fact that Usedom is a popular summer destination.

MHS Aviation will again fly between Mannheim and Hamburg six times a week from April 17, 2023. For Rhein-Neckar Air, the two cities are connected on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Two course pairs are planned on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Ticket sales will start on January 4, 2023. The same also applies to the new Heringsdorf flights. There are currently no concrete plans for the Berlin route.
