The Mariazellerbahn and the Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (VOR) are launching a commuter campaign in the Pielachtal from July to September. For a monthly price of 42,08 euros, passengers can use the VOR KlimaTicket to get to work in a relaxed manner during a construction site closure on the B 39. This campaign was made possible in cooperation with the Pielachtal municipalities and the VOR, as Deputy Governor Udo Landbauer announced.
With its regular journeys, the Mariazellerbahn offers a comfortable and punctual alternative to the car. According to a passenger survey by the VCÖ, 97 percent of those surveyed particularly value the punctuality, cleanliness and friendliness of the trains as well as their safety. The summer commuter campaign also includes a comprehensive passenger survey, the results of which will contribute to future timetable planning, explains Barbara Komarek, Managing Director of Niederösterreich Bahnen.
During the promotional period, commuters can use the VOR climate ticket at a reduced rate and benefit from additional services such as free transport of e-scooters, folding bikes and folding scooters. For bicycles, it is possible to book parking spaces that require a reservation. Frequent riders also have the option of a monthly ticket for bicycles.
The Mariazellerbahn commuter campaign is carried out in cooperation with the municipalities of Ober-Grafendorf, Weinburg, Hofstetten-Grünau, Rabenstein, Kirchberg, Loich, Schwarzenbach and Frankenfels as well as the VOR.
