The first flight of the new Mexicana de Aviación will be postponed again. The government of Mexico originally stated that it would start on December 2, 2023. Initially it was postponed to December 26, 2023.
Now this deadline doesn't hold either, because the state leadership had to declare that it won't start before the second half of 2024. The reasons are probably primarily that apart from a wet lease Embraer 145 there is no other aircraft available. It remains to be seen whether the new date will hold.
