The Russian authorities today approved the AUA for an alternative flight route from Vienna to Moscow that does not cross Belarusian airspace. The AUA can thus operate the flight OS601 / 602 planned for today from Vienna to Moscow and back. This is reported by, among others ORF.
Approval for the alternative route is still pending for the other planned passenger flights to Moscow and the cargo flights to Nanjing in China. The Lufthansa subsidiary expects positive feedback from the Russian authorities here too.

Aviation State Secretary Magnus Brunner (ÖVP) assessed the fact that the AUA had received approval for today's flight to Moscow as an “important and correct signal”.
