MUC: Flock of sheep triggers harmless police operation

What happened: The police had to move up because a herd of almost 500 sheep, including donkeys and horses, were grazing too close to the airport.

Due to an increased risk of bird strikes, the police politely asked the shepherd to graze his animals outside of this area. The 53-year-old then complied with this request without objection. The animals were grazing "comfortably outside the area at the fence" under the supervision of the shepherd. However, the herd on Saturday posed a risk that nesting birds could be frightened and fly into the flight path, as aero.de reported.
