After extensive renovation work has been completed and the instrument landing system has been calibrated, the northern runway will be put back into operation on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021.

Concrete and asphalt surfaces were partially renewed, taxiway curves adapted and slot channels on the taxiways replaced. With the start of flight operations on the northern runway, Munich Airport will again have the full capacity of the runway system at its disposal. The southern runway was renovated from May to July of this year.
