Nepal: Guana Airlines had to stop flight operations

In Nepal, the airline Guana Airlines had to stop flight operations by order of the authorities. The country's civil aviation authority had banned the carrier from operating with effect from February 15, 2023.

The background to this is that the fact that the company has been said to owe its employees their salaries for some time is seen as a considerable security risk. As a precaution, the carrier was forbidden to carry out further flights, so that flight operations had to be stopped.

Most recently, the regional airline's fleet consisted of two Beechcraft 1900D and five Jetstream 41. The company has been on the market since 2009, although the company name has been changed repeatedly. This is not the first flight ban that has been imposed, as safety concerns were raised by the Civil Aviation Authority back in 2019.
