New aircraft parking areas put into operation at Zurich Airport

New parking areas for up to 14 aircraft have been completed in the West Zone at Zurich Airport. This expansion is particularly important because many parking spaces at the airport head will be lost during the construction phase of the new Dock A.

Work on the stands, which was interrupted due to the corona pandemic, resumed in early 2023. After laying water, sewage and electricity lines and making the final markings, construction work is largely complete.

The new stands have space for Airbus A320 (code C) and Boeing 777 (code E) aircraft. Two of the stands are also used for handling. However, a planned spotter platform has been delayed due to ongoing legal proceedings.
