On Shrove Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the Viennese burger restaurant "Brioche & Brösel" caused a stir with an unusual creation: the Wiener Schnitzel Krapfen. The dish combines a crispy Wiener Schnitzel with sweet doughnut halves and cranberries and is available exclusively on this day. The campaign was aimed at those who like to experiment and appreciate sweet and savory combinations.

"Brioche & Brösel" is part of the renowned Figlmüller Group, which is internationally known for its classic Wiener Schnitzel. The restaurant specializes in interpreting traditional Viennese dishes in burger form. In addition to the new carnival dish, other creations such as the veal butter schnitzel burger, the fried chicken burger and the boiled beef burger are also on the menu. Prices for the burgers start at 9,80 euros, while the Wiener Schnitzel Krapfen is available on Shrove Tuesday for 7,90 euros.

The Figlmüller Group operates several restaurants in Vienna, including the well-known flagship restaurant “Figlmüller”, which was named one of the most legendary restaurants in the world by Taste Atlas. In addition to traditional pub concepts, the portfolio also includes modern gastronomy formats such as the “Daily Bar” at Vienna Airport or the “Zwischengang”, which offers a modern interpretation of Viennese coffee house culture.

With the new carnival creation, “Brioche & Brösel” is once again demonstrating its innovative power in the Viennese gastronomy scene. It remains to be seen whether the Wiener Schnitzel Krapfen will become a permanent part of the menu in the future.
