The Supervisory Board of Cologne/Bonn Airport GmbH has appointed Cenk Özöztürk as the new second Managing Director. The 45-year-old Özöztürk, who currently heads the Aviation and Human Resources divisions, will form the airport's management team together with Thilo Schmid. Özöztürk has more than 20 years of experience in aviation, including management positions at Air Berlin and, since 2013, at Cologne/Bonn Airport.
His expertise includes the optimization of operational processes and the reorientation of the human resources department. As a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD Business School and with an EMBA in General Management, he brings with him in-depth knowledge of the aviation sector.
Klaus-Dieter Scheurle, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, emphasized Özöztürk's leadership qualities and his ability to successfully overcome complex challenges in aviation. In his new role as COO, Özöztürk will be responsible for Aviation, Ground Services, Human Resources, Real Estate, Technology and Information Technology.
