In its meeting on July 29, 2022, the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Nürnberg GmbH decided to extend the contract of Managing Director Michael Hupe by a further five years until October 2028.

"I am delighted that Dr. Michael Hupe will remain at the helm of Nuremberg Airport for another five years. Especially in the last two challenging pandemic years, Dr. Hupe impressed with great commitment and tireless effort. On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank him for this and wish him and the entire airport team every success for the coming years," said Albert Füracker, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

By continuing to work together, the Board of Directors recognizes the successful development of the airport before the pandemic, which has resulted in five consecutive years of profitability, as well as the strategic decisions taken to revitalize the region's connectivity after the pandemic. Michael Hupe thanked him for the trust placed in him.
