Eurowings passengers at Salzburg Airport can now benefit from new self-bag drop-off machines that will make checking in luggage much easier. This measure, which is already used by Transavia and Lufthansa, reduces waiting times and speeds up the check-in process. Airport Managing Director Bettina Ganghofer emphasizes that this development is part of the "Innovative Passenger Processes" strategy project and increases both comfort and efficiency for passengers.
With the increasing automation and digitalization of air traffic, traditional check-in processes have increasingly been converted to self-service. Passengers can print out their boarding passes in advance or carry them digitally and check in their luggage at the airport themselves. The process includes weighing and labeling the luggage and final identification at the drop-off counter. For those who need assistance, so-called "floorwalkers" are on hand to help with questions or problems.
The new machines allow baggage to be dropped off earlier and are intended to help ease passenger traffic, especially during peak times. Passengers with special baggage or special travel document checks must continue to use the regular check-in counters.
