There has been a non-stop connection between Nuremberg and London Heathrow for just over a year. This is considered particularly important by the Bavarian airport, as many transfer passengers were able to be won over for flights to the USA.

"British Airways' connection to the London Heathrow hub was a long-awaited request from passengers and companies from our metropolitan area," says Dr. Michael Hupe, Managing Director of Nuremberg Airport. "The connection not only brings business travellers, schoolchildren, students and tourists to London, but also to many destinations worldwide via the hub." In addition to internal British transfer connections, for example to Edinburgh, Manchester or Glasgow, New York Airport is at the top of the list of transfer destinations. Followed by Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Miami and Boston.

The route is also popular in the opposite direction, as the recently published 2022 annual balance sheet from the Nuremberg Congress and Tourism Center (CTZ) shows: According to this, the US market developed excellently and remains Nuremberg’s most important foreign market with over 120.000 overnight stays, including the new one in particular British Airways connection contributes.
