The ÖAMTC warns visitors to this year’s Danube Island Festival (20 to 22 June 2025) urgently before rigorous towing Improperly parked vehicles. To keep the access routes to the Danube Island clear for emergency vehicles at all times, violations are strictly punished. Drivers risk costs of well over €400, which can include towing fees, storage fees, and possible prosecution, plus any taxi fares for the return journey.
The Automobile Club recommends that visitors to the major event Park & Ride facilities and the public transport For all road users not traveling to the Donauinselfest, the ÖAMTC recommends using the Prater Bridge (A23) or the Nordbrücke, which, however, require a toll sticker. However, significant traffic disruptions are expected on the Danube Island bridges—Floridsdorfer, Brigittenauer, and Reichsbrücke—due to the high influx of visitors.
In addition, the ÖAMTC experts point out the current Short-term parking zone regulations in the Vienna city area. This will be in effect almost everywhere on Friday, the first day of the festival, from 9:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. This means that illegally parked vehicles can not only be towed away, but also face fines if they park without a valid parking ticket or outside of the permitted times. Strict adherence to parking regulations is therefore essential to avoid high costs and inconveniences.
